Guests often picture fishing along the Amed shoreline. With Captain Wayan the boat leaves the beach and heads to the usual ground about 12–15 km offshore — around 45 minutes, in water up to about 1,250 m. It is a private trip: your family, partner or friends only. No shared boat.
Not a shared tourist boat
Amed Local Fishing & Snorkeling Adventures only takes private bookings. The boat is for your group. Equipment, bait, drinking water and snacks are on board. Never been fishing? No experience needed — Captain Wayan helps and teaches on the boat.
How the day usually runs
Morning fishing
Meet at Captain Wayan’s home at 04:30 AM, coffee or tea, then head out. Return is usually around 09:00–10:00 AM, depending on the trip and sea conditions. See Morning Fishing.
Sunset fishing
Same offshore spot, 13:00–17:00. Bring a waterproof bag — you may get sea spray on the ride. See Sunset Fishing.
A catch is not guaranteed. Captain Wayan looks for live bait for bigger fish; if none, he looks for other fish. If fish are there, he will try to find as many as possible.
Let’s Go Get & Grill
If you catch fish, you can take it to a local warung or restaurant to be grilled. Cooking is not included. That is the “Get & Grill” part of the trip — the ocean, then a plate of your own catch.
Pickup and safety
Free pickup is available in the Amed area. Near the beach, pickup by boat may be possible depending on location and sea conditions. Outside Amed, guests arrange their own transport. Trips depend on sea and weather; Captain Wayan may postpone or cancel if conditions are unsafe. Questions: contact or about Captain Wayan.
